Well played WP!

WP got their Currie Cup campaign back on track with a solid win against the high flying Griquas at Newlands yesterday.

It could have all gone wrong very easily, with WP losing to the Sharks last week, their confidence would have been. And to face Griquas, the giant killers of the Currie Cup so far would not have looked like an easy task.

Yet when looking at the final score, 45-21 it looks like it was just a walk in the park fo WP. But lets not take anything away from how well WP played, remember Griquas have beaten, the Bulls, the Lions and the Sharks in the last 3 weeks. Thatsportsite believes that WP’s loss to the Sharks last week was a wake up call fo WP.

Last week WP were sucked into off the ball incidents and made to play the Sharks way. Hence the loss to the Sharks.

Fast forward one week and WP played the game they wanted to, creative attack and solid defence. That is why the bonus point was secured in the first half!

2 trys coming from intercepts, that is good defence as Griquas had to force passes and run from different angles.  Griquas like to do the running on their terms.

WP did a whole lot roght yesterday to kill off the threat posed by Griquas as their Currie Cup campaign could have gone horribly wrong if they had lost.

Thatsportsite has said before that WP is doing something right with the development of youngsters and bring them through the ranks. Just look at Scarra Ntubeni and Marcel Brache.

WP, keep these players in the Western  Cape, lets not lose them to the Bulls or Sharks as we have before. Reap the benefits of your hardwork in the developments of these players, just to name a few.

That is all thatsportsite asks. Otherwise keep doing what you doing.

WP, jou lekker ding!

Well played WP!
